1-50 does, honestly, feel pretty incomplete. Most classes (I’ve maxed them all out) don’t see much in the way of a full toolkit until around level 45. That said, that long time before your toolkit feels full does give you a lot of time to acclimate to said toolkit.

It’s really hard to say if you don’t dig the MMOs you’ve tried, but the game is free to level 60 and level 50-60 is a stellar experience in particular, so I’d recommend at least giving the trial a shot. Level 50(ish) is where it actually starts to get good. When you move on to Ishgard, the fetch questing is less of a thing and the story is less of a slog.

Just as an FYI, past a certain point, most combat instances are preceded by a cutscenes that can be skipped and the very few (Mostly ARR content) that can’t be can at least be rushed through with space bar/ cross button on controller.

I loved BOTW but it did a terrible job of incentivizing you to fight monsters instead of avoiding them, as if you like your weapons you’re draining that resource and in return getting replacement weapons at best or resources like gems or rupees that can be attained way more efficiently.
