I’ve been playing Resident Evil games since the Director’s Cut edition of the original (So, second iteration back in like ‘97) and I will say straight up that 7 is probably the best Resident Evil game (Resident Evil 4 is the best game in the franchise, but it’s where the series got off track) the franchise has put out

So, obviously, I’m spending my mortgage money on one of these, but now we get to board the real hype train: the same concept that you can hit things with.

FWIW, and I don’t know if this is something that’s new with the Ultimate Edition or a patch, but Control has some pretty robust difficulty sliders currently.

Oh god, yeah. I’ve been working through sidequests lately (Actively leveling all jobs, so I’ve been doing them for funsies while I’m in queue on DPS) and I just got to the post-SB sidequests and enjoyed seeing them touch on Wilred’s death.

Oooh, ooh! Link to source on that last bit?

Unknown right now. He has a mystery X-Book starting in, I think, July with Leah Williams (X-Factor writer). Going theory is its going to be a Moira solo book (Hickman claimed there was something coming almost two years ago now and a book about her really fits for expanding on what he has been doing).

Yeah, as an X-Men fan, its like having your cake and eating it too. We get to have an actual new, coherent direction on X-Men (As opposed to the same under a new wrapper that were used to) for the first time in a long, long time while also still getting legit X-Men stories (Which we also have, inexplicably, barely

The tissue sample is news to me on Synch, but more or less. There’s actually quite a few X-Men characters with powersets like that.

Yeah, which makes sense. X-Men’s flagship title doesn’t necessarily “need” him and he’s got that mystery book with Leah Williams coming up which I would almost certainly peg as Moira X (It’s been rumored for over a year now), which would certainly deep dive into the new status quo.

It should easily help matters a good bit with everything. The PS4 slim’s base drive clocks in at about a fifth of the speed of even the lowest end SSDs out there.

FWIW, SSDs have gotten cost effective enough that hybrid drives are more-or-less pointless. A quick look on Amazon drives it home: you can actually get a 2TB SSD for less than the cost of a hybrid drive.

Yeah, that’s a weird statement to make. I cannot manage to make the controller work for me, but I’ve been playing MMOs on PC since like 2003. I feel like it would be much easier to manage if I wasn’t so used to keybinds and the like.

No, I wouldn’t. But he’s still in the wrong and that’s what makes him a compelling character, not that he’s some kind of fucking role model. I would make, more or less, every choice he made, because they were generally the safer and practical choices. The rare occasions where he did the “right” thing, it went bad for

That soundtrack is fucking gold, though. The Dream On orchestral version and the Alice in Chains tracks alone are worth the price of admission. I had to lookup the full soundtrack and it was practically compiled by 16 year old me.

That is, like, the absolute fucking lowest of bars.

because of the relationship that develops between Joel and Ellie we start to forget or overlook those things that paint him as less than heroic.

Are we under the impression Joel wasn’t a shitheel?

Seconded here. I played it for the first time in 2018 (Played through to about the first Route 93 sign on PS3 and then restarted when I got a PS4 shortly after) and the gameplay aged fantastically well (I’d say the same of Uncharted 2 and 3, less so the first, which I also first played then) and the visuals never once

Haven’t played Ico myself, but I was leaning Shadow of the Colossus. I played the remaster last year (Having never played it on PS2 or 3, my PS2 died before it came out and I didn’t get a 3 until after the 4 was out). Mechanically, it just doesn’t age great for first timers. Like, the concepts are all balling, but it

So, I’m not the viscerally anti-remake type like some others are, but even I’m a little puzzled by this one. I didn’t play TLoU for the first time until 2018 and you know what? Still looked great, which isn’t always the case with 3D games (So, so many 3D games look like absolute trash a generation later).
