Do you realize VW invited them in, and also has a very close relationship with their union in Germany? Do you bother to even read the articles?

Not true! In their home countries, the Japanese, the Germans, and the Koreans use union labor. So really you're talking Tesla and that's about it.
Do they count the original Bug which only recently (last 5-10 years) stopped production in Mexico? If so, I don't doubt their claims. Newer cars (you know, with electronics, fuel injection, airbags, air cond, .....), not so much.

Don't certain cities in Europe (London, I believe) tax cars going into the city based on displacement? If so, this would be great for the livery services there - after all, the passenger in the rear seat doesn't really care what engine is under the hood.
I have one of those ugly wagon looking SRXs (2009). Best combination of utility (seats 7 - if 2 are kids), size (much smaller than most 3 rows), luxury, and performance (on Sigma chassis like pre-2014 CTS, so RWD and great handling) that has been made (possible exception - E-class wagon with rear seats).
I feel like I should be an expert here, since the 2 cars I drive have a total of 3 solid axles (the wife's car is all-independent, however).
It's not.
I'm Catholic, and I've never seen a priest NOT drive a humble car (usually a Chevy, Ford, or Buick). Maybe it's different in Europe, but that's my experience in the USA
I have to throw out our personal family car - a 2009 Cadillac SRX. 3 rows of seats, sports-sedan like handling, AWD, huge sunroof - it's 80% minivan utility but has RWD roots (based on the CTS platform). Too bad they replaced it with the FWD Lexus RX-fighting version in 2010.
Believe me, I was hoping for something more dramatic at the back. I can see why Cadillac is toning it down at the higher price point, though, where flair can be a negative (and especially in China, where I'm sure Cadillac wants to increase sales). All I'm saying is that it's certainly no worse than the competition -…
The front of the CTS is certainly not bland, the rest of the car (including the rear) is. But it's certainly no worse than its German/Japanese competition, and bland is what sells mid size lux sedans (not including niche vehicles like the A7).
Remember, this is going up against the A6/5er/E-class in size/price/demographics (not 30-40 yo somewhat wealthy, but 40-60 yo comfortably wealthy). I expected this to be a little more formal than the old CTS (the wagon version of which I own). The A6 is handsome but bland, the 5er is bland and ugly (IMO), and the MB…
The rear diff housing is also iron - it gave them better defense against temperature swings and it helped balance the car to near 50/50. It's smart engineering.
Owning an '01 myself, I can say it's the most honest car I've ever had. Sure, the windows and A/C are now a "sometimes" affair, but it has always started, still rides amazingly (for having two solid axles), and is amazing off-road.
The Vette's rear window looks NOTHING like a GTR's. The Vette's window is longer on the top than the bottom (opposite of a GTR's). The blacked-out A-pillars have been a Corvette styling mark since the C4. The only thing the Vette's and GTR'S share are four tail-lamps (hmmm, which one had that first?) and multiple,…
Do you realize that the "50" in Q50 has nothing to do with engine displacement? The Q50 is the G37 sedan replacement. They will have a Q40, Q60, etc.
It's just common courtesy, if you are a GUEST, to not annoy the people who you are the guest of. These people live there, and presumably have to work and shouldn't be routinely disturbed at night. I really think that if they weren't driving like a$$es then there wouldn't be a problem (I'm surprised someone has not…
The 4.6 is a 3 valver, technically speaking. But agree, at that price CP.
As one of the few who did buy one, I have nothing but praise for it. Visibility is not an issue (being low to the ground, you can notice other cars in the "blind" spot as well (if not better than) high-riding SUVs (and rearview camera was standard on 2011+ models). Ride/handling combination is great. Gas mileage…
