Many cars have a self-image as the menu icon for "status" (see the status below the pic?) - many Nissans and Infiniti(s) do this. I'm sure it has a picture of a radio or map for the audio or nav functions. Go look at the Cadillac XTS digital dash or Dodge Dart digital dash to see other examples.

Watch the video, the whole number section below the "needle" lights up, so it should be fairly easy to tell. And the "status" underneath the mini-Vette likely means that this is the icon for the status of oil temp, etc on the right. I would expect a digital speedo there as another option.
