other than a bath and a good (non political) podcast I like to light candles, buy myself flowers, and go on long walks with no particular place to go.

I did not know about it, I’ll check it out!

THIS. right here. when I read the book (hadn’t seen the movies) as a young girl and introvert I immediately recognized what Mr. Darcy was going through. he has been my example ever since, I have the “Mr Darcy complex” meaning people think I hate them immediately. I use this phrase to explain myself to extroverts who

All I will say is I’m a woman who is 5'6" and the only non sexy version that would fit me was a child’s XL. I was furious -but it is mine now!!!!

I don’t know what that is, but it is far from revolutionary. they looked way better than whatever that mess is.

actually I have been dressing up in my founding father outfit I had left over for halloween at protests, for two reasons. 1. it gets positive attention which is good. 2. it reclaims the idea that patriotism and history is only for conservatives.

I’ve never had the desire for a large home. an incredibly nice home in an amazing location - yes. I don’t get the appeal of huge houses.

also historically women dressing as men was a thing, but why that has fallen by the wayside and men in drag did not is curious.

or women as little boys. If the threat of sex is removed for some reason that’s acceptable.

yes! Shakespeare somehow gets bent more frequently- I just wish we could apply it to other works. did you hear about the female King Lear at the Old Vic? I would kill to see it.

literally one story where women get to play sexless little boys.

oh yes I know about them! It’s nice to see but in America, and the U.K. and most of the “Western” world this is just not a norm.

it is a real issue not just in comedy and snl but in places like broadway and theatre in general. men are consistently portraying women, sometimes in all male troupes. it takes away opportunities for women performers, and is a cheap gimmick - and the flip version (women performing male roles) almost NEVER happens.

not a spoiler so much as I relish showing my friends a film I love, knowing they aren’t aware of the ending. I just don’t like giving a good ending away!
