Good review but your section about crunch really should’ve been a separate article in my opinion. Not that you can’t address the conditions the game were made under, but devoting another thousand words to it in the middle of the review felt out of place.

Honestly, considering how big the game seems to be, I’m worried if reviewers perception of the game will be clouded by how fast they were forced to play through it in order to meet their deadline.

Not always. And some people prefer to hear what the community thinks about a game first.

Now I feel like playing the game again.

Well someone’s gotta buy the game day 1 if they’re going to help let others know if it’s a good game or not.

“took me awhile to get to it”

They kind of are though. That’s why companies have social media policies employees have to adhere to.

To each their own, but that rubs me the wrong way.  I’ll wait for a sale.

Nope

Like what?  The 100-hour work week thing that was blown out of proportion?  I fail to see how that and some mom and pop stores not getting the game for a few days is a shitshow.

Well of course it was calculated. That’s pretty much the point of PR.

I find it disingenuous to paint Rockstar as some kind of slave-driving company based on one poorly worded quote Dan Houser gave.

Uh, no one is thinking that. Heather gave her opinion and other people are responding with theirs. They don’t have to agree with her.

Agreed. People are filling in the blanks themselves to confirm their own pre-conceived notions.

Sooo this is basically a review but it’s not branded as a Kotaku review? Why not? Just seems strange.

The original is being released for Switch in December. I haven’t heard about a PS4/XB1 version but it wouldn’t surprise me if those are coming soon too.

I was looking forward to re-buying this game when it launches on the Switch in December. Then I heard the price tag is $30 which is ridiculous considering it was originally $20 when it launched on PS2!

I’m just trying to picture someone using a phone that’s bigger than a Switch and the mental image is hilarious.

Thanks. I actually am on the fence about it but will probably hold off based on your comment.  I love the art style but I don’t know that I can make time for this game on top of everything else coming out.

I need to get through the last couple of stages in Mega Man 11. I might also play some Spider-Man. All I have left to do is get some secret photo ops and master the challenges.
