My ‘01 S10 Blazer rear-ended a ‘19 Mazda3 at about 7mph. My Blazer’s front bumper caved in, taking out everything up to the radiator. Cost me about $1100 to repair/replace. The Mazda needed a new camera/sensor in the rear bumper. $850.

Rural farming communities are statistically negligible by definition. (sparsely populated) However, your great point about geography limiting walkability is crucial. Not every state is flat like Florida or Missouri. Walking 2 miles from your home in California or North Carolina can mean hills and canyons.
