Great read! To your notion about finding a 325i in equivalent shape to a 325e for the same price... you’re absolutely right. I went for the a cheap 325i ($600) and I have spent countless hours getting it back up to snuff. Considering the 325e is just as modable as any other E30, they’re a no brainer.

I was going to suggest ITB’s, they can make some pretty wild intake noise. This isn’t quite the same as the video above, but depending on the airbox setup it might get pretty whiny.
