These have god awful fuel economy stock. The last thing I would want to do is add a $7500 supercharger, get worse mileage, and now have to pay for premium fuel. It’s a damn 4Runner... best to keep it simple and as reliable as possible for all the “off-road” trails most of these will definitely see.

Okay, so yeah this thing is sweet but it’s definitely over priced. I know this because I daily drive one, the big detractors here are the automatic and 3VZ V6. Yes, the 3VZ can be reliable, but the early model second gen 4Runners had recalls due to head gasket issues and 150k is prime for a head gasket replacement if

I swear to the lord Jesus, we’re working at the same place...

M20B25 from a BMW E30, not because it’s actually the best... but because they’re tough engines that are typically slept on and the single cam sounds great! They’re also happy to accept boost :) Here’s mine!

I have not, but now I have. Thanks for the recommendation, that was well worth the listen.

Man, this is fucked on a magnitude of levels. I feel pretty disturbed by the cheering after a terrible accident... hopefully the person isn’t dead.

Worth it

You know what would solve this issue? More guns!

* sigh * I picked up my E30 up for a song six years ago, I agree the current prices aren’t worth the squeeze. It takes a fairly big pocket book to buy one and then modify these days. Glad I got in when I did...

E46s are definitely the generation to pick up at the moment for a performance bargain.

Growing up riding bmx you never called “Last run” at the skatepark precisely for this reason, always ended in a crash. This feels awfully similar lol

Hard not to want with the E30 looks... I’d take an E46 for the normal commute, and an E30 for when I want to get saucy. Daily driving an E30 is not for a normy, but as someone who can appreciate the lesser comforts for more engine noise and better driving feels, it’s a wonderful machine. I recommend driving a modified

Hard agree, I pulled the poly bushes from my trailing arms for this exact reason... the noise was retched.

Strikes me as a pretty dick move by Tesla

Dude literally not true, the potential is absolutely there for gasoline motors. Case and point:

Man same, my phone could not handle this article... all these damn jalpopnik ads now don’t help.

Much respect! You sound like a true gear head, happy wrenching!

Very cool! I’ve daily driven my E30 in Austin, TX for the past four years up until recently where it is now under-going a turbo conversion :). Now, being a northerner for a majority of my life, my question is how do you daily your mustang year round with the salt?

When exactly was this because I’ve been stumbling around this site for 10 years and have yet to feel sedan hate around here. Crossovers on the other hand...

I dream of engine swapping my partners when she’s out of town...
