An ERECT penis.

Which totally fits in the Old Testament style sense of moral retribution that runs core through the Coen Bros. ovuer. She told that one lie that saved Lester's ass out of and it led to her death.

That's my all time favorite joke. Everything about it is wonderful, but I'm especially fond of the use of the word 'scoundrel', which I think may be the funniest word in the English language

I think the group-think that tends to occur in cultural criticism has gotten to the point where if there's a white guy on television doing bad things some people can't help but point it out as yet another 'tired white male anti-hero', instead of what the character might actually be, which is, a, you know, the VILLAIN.

Lesser writers might worry about spilling over into absurdity by going too far into redneck cracker nightmare fuel. Not Pizzalato. Much like The Master, David Lynch, he knows that going all the way is the only way to go baby.

Didn't Mcconoughey voice Boomhauers brother in an episode?

Alls I know is that Bushmills is Protestant whiskey!

Actually, though everything he says here is awful (though much of it is, as noted by a lot of people already, is likely an act), he IS a delight in person. Seriously, he's readings and fan interactions are a blast.

He claims not to read ANYTHING, yet when I saw him at a reading he recited an Ann Sexton poem by memory.

I was thinking either Katherine Keener or Amy Adams. Pretty big difference there, but I could see both doing their own thing with the role.

Ooooo, Navy Seals!

Well now I'm tracking down this Impolex immediately.

I thought he was pretty good in his small role in The Ghost Writer.

Yeah, Point Blank can definitely be read as a death dream.

It means that he's still the same psychopath he always was. It's meant to invoke the toll in his cab being reset for the next fare.

Yeah, but to be fair: there IS an inherent coolness to Walter White that is lacking in Bickle. I agree that it would be immature to simply think of White as a badass and not recognize how pitiful, petty and at times dumb he could be (not to mention, you know, outright evil), but in the end not only does he achieve his

Give it another chance, after that initial bout of body horror there's not anymore. And it really is a great film.

Eh, better this than some boring-ass long view of the guy's life. The casting doesn't do much for me, but at least the limited narrative has potential. The road trip genre is far more promising than the standard biopic.

@avclub-bb8fab48c58e21a6e63eb8f9be0e7717:disqus Irreversible has TWO scenes everyone always talks about.
