I’m pretty sure it changes station to station, market to market. Some shops give newscasters a monthly stipend to add to their wardrobe, while some talent write those conditions into their contracts. Ain’t cheap being on TV...the hair, make-up, clothing—for both men and women.

Yeah—that’s why I probably won’t ever leave for good. It’s too much of a hub to ignore. My newsfeed is mostly news sites and a few friends who post interesting content. With enough curation, one can minimize the inane crap.

Once or twice a year I deactivate my FB account and remove the apps from my phone/iPad. It’s like a game, trying to see how long I can go without logging back on (and reactivating) FB through my browser.
