thisthisthis :( I found an adored (*mutual*, I thought..) long-ago HS friend on FB one day and dropped him a line after friending. His response? “I was going to send you a message, but I just got caught up reading your wall. Hope all is well.”

Just so you know: this playlist is exactly what my work day needed.
Um, where the flip is Aaron Rodgers on this list?
oh god that’s gross
I work for the state—my current office does a gift-exchange game. It works pretty well—$10-20 gifts, if folks stick to the amount. Booze works well here.
Walker pounced on in with his own declarations for Wisconsin too. Unsurprisingly.
As well as my recent European experience: every British person I interacted with looked like a nice fellow, but upon closer inspection were found to be prickly, fearful grumps.
Sometimes I feel like the only person on this planet who wasn’t and isn’t head over heels for Friends. What’s the big deal with this show?
Wow. I wish I could say I’m surprised, but I’m not. The political divisions in WI are running deep now—and people feel justified othering their co-workers. Sometimes I want to fight back, other times I feel like it’s just time to move on...
My husband is a liberal—one of the few, if not only, in his National Guard unit. He’s always telling me about the harassment he gets from his co-workers. I was sitting next to him when his boss called one day to gloat about Scott Walker’s WI governorship win (the first of his many WI wins, unfortunately.)
What a shit bag.
Or headed to Wisconsin to live for the next year.
AMEN.
I don’t know why I love this so, but I do: Amy’s Texas burger with hot pickles, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato and peanut butter.
A co-worker of mine fits this bill: terribly excited about everything, and I often feel like he doesn’t hear what I’ve said to him because he’s consistently interrupting others/waiting to make his point. I find it very difficult (exhausting) to work with him.
Agreed.
Take the week off work? Seriously, what world do you live in? Going easy on yourself and creating headspace is one thing, but that’s a helluva luxury to dedicate to the situation.
Where do I apply for a position? I get to take a hike, inspect leaves and then dummies compensate me for it. Beats this desk job.
AZ and NZ was my first trip! Then South Africa and then the UK in high school. The Central European trip seemed so appealing, but it wasn’t offered in my region when I was of age. They were all such great experiences, and I’m pleased to meet another who’d rather stumble onto a great local cafe. :)
You’re a PTP person! I was beginning to think I imagined my time with People to People—everyone I’ve ever mentioned it to look at me like I’m growing another head before their eyes.
