It’s really important context the lost jobs were due to keeping the remaining ones as employees rather than contractors.  It's absolutely true they were working to improve things for them, even if the ones they could not outright hire lost thier jobs.  That said, even if Raven was in fact working to improve things for

In this case it’s more complicated. They worked hard to outright hire the QA workers rather than use contractors. In the process they were not able to hire 100% of them, so those contractors lost thier jobs, and that is the context of the laid off workers.

The point wasn’t to hide her rear it was to specifically change certain scenes in which it didn’t make sense to use the camera how they did.

I know it’s way bigger than just that, but Raven and id being under the same company is interesting to see all these years later since they were close in the 1990s, if it goes through.

It’s more akin to buying a slip of paper saying you owned those comics.

I’m still in awe that I learned in the required art history class I had to take some guy with a package fetish got paid thousands if not millions to literally do things like “wrap” sky scrapers and beaches in packages and photograph them.  I wish that was a weird dream.

I wish I had enough faith in humanity to believe they are sock puppets.

There is a huge difference. Physical trinkets are real objects. Digital things are by thier nature infinite.  Making a fancy receipt doesn't make it any more valid than if I wrote on a piece of paper saying I sold the Mona Lisa to someone.

A good example is some articles (used to at least) act as if all blockchain stuff is horrible for the environment, to the point of misinformation. That said, I’m failing to understand how NFTs are a good thing in any context, even if non-wasteful blockchain stuff has other uses for recording transactions or replacing

All that money and it's not even a lossless format like PNG??  Not that it would be much better

I’ve learned to expect the vast majority of moderation complaints in general to be misleading (usually due to belligerence in breaking conduct rules combined with intentionally provoking others), so I’m glad this article highlights the absurdity of the auto-bans. Treating the existence of LGBT people as un-family

Since stars don't give notifications anymore, thanks for the detailed reply.

You overstate the frequency is the problem. Don’t get me wrong. Even one innocent death is too many. But it’s taken way too far. Thankfully as of late they have been held accountable. But that doesn't mean convictions based on knee-jerk headline anger.  Justice isn't easy, and it's most often way more complicated than

That’s a really interesting point. When I was newer at my job I got a company wide email with remote connection instructions.

I think it's a mix.  I know it's much harder for me to stay on task at home.  But at the same time it's unfair to assume most slack off.  I have a friend whose wife is required to have a camera on at all times while working from home, which is just creepy.  Apparently someone where she works was inactive six of eight

I don’t think either is right. The article is far more than a knee-jerk piece dehumanizing police officers, but it also undermines itself by using a term like “copaganda,” a term born of irrational cop hating.

Apparently it is misinformation that blockchain in general has any bigger environmental impact, and that is mostly certain ones like Ethereum. That doesn’t make NFTs any less stupid though of course. But accuracy is important or the opposition looks like a social media mob. Not that social media mobs believe anything

Both Sony and Nintendo have shown no commitment to honoring purchases indefinitely. The evidence is in the virtual console and PS1/2 classics, both of which would be trivial to keep running on newer hardware. They choose not to.

This is hilarious, it's bugging out and sending me to error pages from random countries, Russian and French pages to be specific so far.  Every time I think I can't be less impressed by thier awful product, they outdo it again.  But hey now they have achievements and a shopping cart... in 2021.

First, to be clear I know the article is reporting on this so this isn’t directed at the article.
