Square One was my favorite show as a kid and Cathey was an absolute essential part of that ensemble. It hit that perfect midpoint of entertainment and education that I’m not sure any show ever did better. Loved him as Carcetti’s reality check on The Wire and he really did his best to drag something resembling emotions

With the amount of consumable media these days “it’s not that bad” is generally something I’m not eager to spend 2 hours of my life doing. And I don’t even have that busy of life- not married and no kids. But I do have a full time job and there’s just so many good shows, movies and video games these days, seeing some

Maybe Netflix could stop dropping every episode at once.

Dole them out piecemeal.

We devour and hype Game of Thrones over a two month give or take period. Netflix shows come and go in a week before the next thing is out and the momentum is gone.

Seriously, stop giving it all at once.

The AV Club switching to Kinja has done more to keep people from discussing Netflix shows then anything Netflix has done themselves.

“Bob Dylan was always a no-talent motherfucker. That cat David Duchovny though is the next Michael Jackson!” - Quincy Jones

Incorrect. Some of us read this article only because Sean O’Neal wrote it. Seriously, you could write an article about frozen concentrated orange juice futures and not even mention Trading Places once and I’d still read it.

It looks like they took away the public display of stars, presumably because they decided people didn’t dislike Kinja enough.

Are the number of stars awarded to comments not showing up for anyone else. How am I supposed to know what to like without other people to tell me?

The fact that this was its own damn movie until they slapped a Cloverfield name in it just proves how much of a hack Abrams is

First: what happened to Uma is a travesty, and I hope there are serious consequences.

I still buy CD’s. Kind of hard to stop when your collection is pushing a couple thousand. No, I’m not old fashioned. I’m 20 years ahead of the next generation of hipsters.

Can we all give it up for Dog Josh? Best new cast member this season.

Right? $10 mil per episode gets you dragons and epic battles with thousands of extras. I didn’t see $9 mil on the screen in any episode of American Gods. (And I really liked AG)

Going 30M over budget is inexcusable, I’m sorry. They were right to get rid of him, or fight him until he left.

Now at last Bryan Fuller is free to turn his attention to the show-running project he was born for: Fuller House.

The Hollywood Reporter story claims that they wanted a higher budget than the 9 million-per-episode budget offered, which already put it in the very high end of all TV budgets to begin with (the previous season of Game of Thrones and the first season of Westworld each supposedly cost around 10 million per episode).

Methinks this should have been a miniseries and not an ongoing series.

Yeah, this actually makes me feel better about the whole thing. Still a shame to lose Gillian Anderson, though.

f*ckin’ hell... I was all-in on the campy, over-the-top fun, having a great time watching - and then somehow the room got really really dusty when Christmas Sock Puppet came back and tucked himself under the arm of his dying friend. All the horrible things that drove him to abandon Very Bad Santa, yet he was there
