I have most of mine, one goes back to 5th grade. Reading them, I alternated between cringing and finding myself adorable. Mostly cringing.

Me too. I wish I could afford to contribute more to my 401k, but pesky student loans make that hard. I do plan to have those paid off before getting anywhere near retirement age. Though I do wonder if actual retirement (aside from a fun job) is ever going to be possible.

I always think of it as a 50s rebellious teen cliche, aka the Pink Ladies from Grease. Never really known anyone in real life who chews it that way - seems like a lot of work!

As another commenter noted, sometimes medications can cause extremely dry mouth. I generally have a piece of gum in my mouth for this reason. I don’t chomp on it or blow bubbles with it, and my guess is that 99% of people who encounter me never even know I’m a Trident addict.
