Yeah at the time I just fell into being hyper vigilant. Didn’t help that my apartment had been burglarized a month before (that wasn’t personal, I was one of 15 in my neighborhood in a month - all day time break ins. But still.) I changed my route home, parked on a different block, etc.

Yeah I had someone throw a glass bottle at my head when I “mouthed off” (grrrr) - this was in broad daylight, in a public parking lot. It sucks to have to invent a bf but sometimes it’s the only thing that prevents the situation from escalating.

I have learned not to respond at all. I used to do the polite decline response but quickly learned that was a huge mistake. If they get pissed at my lack of response, I can block them without ever engaging.

I think the gubernatorial race is going to be key. My hope is we break the trend of alternating parties from term to term - which considering the disdain for Trump - may just happen. I know Gillespie strategically distanced himself from Trump, but he’s still party line GOP and I’m afraid he’d send us backward.  

At least he lost the primary, his campaign ads were....unsettling.

Out of curiosity (and envy)- where are you located? I pay more than $675 for a two bedroom apt with “circle the block until you can snag a spot” street parking - and I’m paying at least $150-200/month less than most places in my area.
