Meanwhile my white letters are still looking great after 4 years, even through WI winters, mud, gravel, etc.

Race Car: all that matters is the stopwatch and the checkered flag.

Fair enough. For a 300+hp car, that’s not a bad weight compared to a Supra. But the others are expectedly heavier cars. For me, the Z brings thoughts of the early gen’s, which were more like the Miata/BRZ are now. Lightweight two seat sports cars.

“100% there with you. Porsche has been selling the same car since 1964.”

When the 350Z released, Mazda was about halfway through the second generation Miata. They’re now on the fourth generation. Each one being very different from the previous, while still retaining the basic concept of RWD roadster with impeccable handling and enough power to be fun but not “I might lose my license

LMAO it’s not about progress it’s about driving fun and control. Having computers take more away from me isn’t progress towards driving fun

The 370z weighs less than the Supra, Corvette, Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger (MUCH less than the latter half of that list). How is it overweight?

Now they’re upping the horsepower to 400+, and I imagine keeping a similar weight. That’s putting it right at the same weight/hp ratio as an M2, which I don’t think anyone

Porsche has been selling the same car since 1964.

Ya, but if that platform is overweight and under performing compared to the competition, what’s the point? Porsche has gotten away with it, because Porsche. GM finally did what they needed to with the Corvette.

I keep seeing comments like yours and think “only in America”. The manual is alive and well in the rest of the world.

The Stinger is actually quite practical, a good sized 4 door hatch.

Whenever I see a new sports car come out, particularly a little 2 seater or a “4 seater, but who are we kidding, you’ll be lucky to fit a bag of groceries back there” car, I ask myself: “Who is the target audience?”

the average Joe struggles to read tire sizes.

I am totally fine with the new Z being an incremental improvement on the 370Z. In fact, to me, it just means the car will be easier to maintain and modify. If it keeps the stick, I’m going to be pretty tempted by this.

Who wants fun when you can have fast right? I can’t wait until sports cars drive themselves autonomously.

calm down rambo

A platform that’s been under Nissans and Infinitis for over 12 years

You just described the Porsche 911.

Of course it’s keeping the stick. It’s going to be the same car, with a few new ‘custom’, redesigned touches - new lights, wheels, and maybe a slightly revised roofline. It’ll also come with a slight uptick in horsepower. And one or two ‘limited run’ paint and interior design schemes to celebrate, say, the 55th

I agree!! Just in general, never buy a car from a dealer in the Sacramento area!! That, and the dealer doesn’t say anything about the car except that it was detailed. I’m going with the old school crack-pipe vote
