I was so sad to miss the show on the Facades series! And now with his death, the [out-of-print] Facades book is of course selling for $125+ a copy on Amazon. Booo. Do you know if there’s anywhere online to view more of the Facades collection than the very few posted on the Society’s website?

Little Shop of Horrors!

WTeverlastingF PETA. I had no idea. Thank you for sharing. This is so unbelievably fucked up.

Although (in only semi-related news), I had corn & mayonnaise sushi at a conveyer-belt sushi restaurant the last time I was in Japan, and it was unabashedly fantastic. It was exactly what it sounds like...sushi rice wrapped in seaweed and topped with cooked corn kernels and Kewpie mayonnaise.

Indeed, I just love the use of the word “young” in this sentence.

That’s a fascinating way of approaching it, and one I hadn’t heard before. Would the reverse work as well - levels of estrogen? Like anything, I’m sure there are tons of pitfalls and potential issues with this solution, but it makes more sense than many others I’ve heard batted around.

I love this story, and I love that saying from your mom. I’ve never heard that before but it is so, so true. Thank you for sharing - it sums up Richard perfectly. <3

I remember hearing about a father whose child had been murdered by another man in cold blood. Really chilling murder. The father shot and killed the murderer in the courthouse at some point during the trial. He (the father) went to trial as well (separately, of course) and was acquitted by the jury. Have to say I

Also proof that Terry Pratchett is Tutankhamun reincarnated:

Agreed 100000%. Such a huge suspender fan. So sexy!

How many other people “steered” along with this every time?? I know we did. “It’s starting! Hands up in steering position, and....left! Right! Lean into the curve!” What a great memory to watch this again.

which is really how society fells

This would be awesome if jeans weren’t one of those things that you absolutely always have to try on before buying. No matter what.

Great article - thanks for sharing!

Agreed, I don’t really want any toplessness at the dinner table. :D

I think that in our country (the US) specifically, much of it descends from the Puritans’ views that were so indoctrinated into the earliest years of European settlers here. Although that was a long time ago, it’s my understanding that some of that got so deeply embedded in our psyches that it never really went away.

You win the internets for today. :)

Honest question...are bow ties a strictly (or implicitly) Republican thing now? Because I always liked them, but I don’t like the idea of clothing choices that make implicit political statements. This is all news to me. I thought bow ties were just hipster.

I felt like I was listening to a song that was written expressly with the hope it would become a new drag queen anthem. Not saying it SHOULD be, just saying it sounded like it was written 100% with that goal.
