Has anyone thought that the iPad 3 might simply be a refresh of the iPad 2 at the same price and capacities (but faster CPU and more RAM perhaps) while the iPad HD may be a single hew high-end device, with the Retina display and say 256GB of storage at a new premium price (over $1K)?

Almost all trade shows are identical regardless of what the product is. The booths, the gimmicks, even the booth babes, and especially the salesmen are interchangeable whether it's software, jewelry, plumbing parts, or fragmentation grenades.
