Because the back seaters will often fill the first overhead bins with their shit because they’re too lazy to carry it further both ways. That forces the fronters to have to use the overheads in the back, which upon deplaning, requires them to swim upstream (translation: wait for all peeps to clear before heading

^ this is the correct take. The government should not encourage people to go into debt, except for capital expenditures. Your house is an appreciating asset so it makes sense to encourage home buying. The car is a depreciating asset, so it makes no sense to go into debt to buy it.

But never the turn signals, amirite?

They should replace it with a cool easter egg, like a Chrysler Turbine car.

first of all, how dare you

I’m pretty sure car interest was deductible back in the 80s.

I personally agree for probably all of the same reasons you do. It’s honestly just kinda funny we didn’t do it anyway because it would have tracked with all the other decisions that created the extremely problematic built environment we have now.

A convicted felon / adjudicated rapist / 6-time-bankupt ‘businessman’ / seditionist / early-stage-dementia-patient / etc. has some thoughts...

Fucking MAGAts are the only ones ruining America.

Yep.  Also, he clearly has no clue how tariffs work.  Not that he cares.  His tariff plan, if actually enacted, would be catastrophic, but it doesn’t even crack the top 20 of terrible things coming with another Trump presidency.

tRump is a nazi loving POS. Nothing he says about cars or anything else really matters. FUCK him and his idiot deplorables.

There are like 5 people that this car has any value to, it’d be cool to own but there’s zero case for a regular person to try and daily drive this.

The 05 Phaeton W12 had an MSRP just south of 100 grand. The Arteon is 45-50k depending on spec. VW hasn’t limited themselves to budget cars in a long time. And frankly no VW is a “people’s car” anymore - the demand constant thorough maintenance beyond what most Japanese cars require, they eat oil like it’s canapes at

Ive never owned a hybrid... always had gas vehicles, and I skipped right over to BEV... i dont regret my decision one bit....

It’s not all about the money. It’s also about just not using gas for some. I pay a few cents more per KwH at home because I’m signed up with a renewable energy provider, but that’s fine with me.

I feel like this is being published because former Jalopnik writer David Tracy supports PHEVs.

Right?

We are here for the comments, not a video that nobody cares about.
