Watch for bikes.
Watch for bikes.
How?
You know what it’s going to cost to get us to carbon neutral, right? May as well provide mobility for America’s working poor, and pass the dollars on to American businesses in one fell swoop.
I almost never approve of means testing any government program. What if I made 50 grand on my 2019 tax returns, but lost my job in March 2020? Do I not get any incentive? What if I don’t have a job, and therefore don’t live within 10 miles of where I don’t work? Do I not get any incentive?
Open it up to everyone and…
The R1T, may not do well in Brooklyn, but the R1S is effectively a Tesla Range Rover. Those’ll sell like Avocado toast there.
Extreme adventure poseur trucks for virtue signalers should sell very well in Brooklyn, the perfect vehicle to drive to the opening of the next Mead Brewery.
A decent analogy would be to truckers who wanted to become owner-operators, were promised that the value of their trucks would be relatively predictable over time, and that the demand for trucking would remain. Then, overnight, highways perish, there is no interstate travel, and everything is delivered by drone. Or…
Holy shit is this all wrong. Housing is going up in certain areas due to zoning. There are a zillion places in this country where housing is cheap as shit and hasnt gone up much if at all. Housing would also be affordable in the Bay Area if the Bay Area, for example, built a fuck ton of houses. Just look at Tokyo for…
But you'll probably have to split the car in half to replace a battery cell.
...did you just say ‘mute point’ ?
I wish I could, but I have one parked outside.
“Nissan is recalling over 854,000 Sentras from model years 2016 to 2019, because the brake lights could fail to light. Also the engine might not start. Resulting in the Sentra being about 100 times more exciting than if the engine had actually started.”
Ha, another Norwegian. We use insane amounts of electricity in this country, which is mostly hydropower. That might explain some of the following numbers, but our entire EV car park of about 300k vehicles, in a nation of 6 million, consumed just 0.5% of our electricity production:
Can confirm. Here in Norway BEVs passed the 60 % mark for new car sales nationwide in October 2020, and even in our coldest, remotest region, which makes the Dakotas seem densely populated, BEVs were 46 % of the sales.
They have EV’s in Europe, too. And very cold weather. They seem to be coping, judging by the lack of news about this problem.
Thusly is the problem with our system as it is today. We can’t do a damn thing simply because it’s the right thing to do. It doesn’t matter how obviously beneficial, needed, or common sense the issue is. If someone who splats the letter “D” by their name mentions it, everyone who splats the letter “R” by their name…
BS. That’s SOP for the GOP.
Republicans are much worse.
Not only utterly corrupt, but useless. Chao took no leadership of anything in her department. Did NHTSA ever get a director? AV standard development get anything other than pushed to the states? She barely made a peep the whole time she was Secretary.
Here’s what I’ve noticed about conservative (red) states recently. They’ll pass laws to make voting harder, make it legal for you to “stand your ground” (re: shoot someone using fear as a (pathetic) excuse), make it legal for you to open carry everywhere, allow you to go maskless and gather and in some cases, they’ll…
Exactly. Nazis gonna Nazi.
