Let’s be honest, Volvo is not on the radar of most people who live in areas with bad EV infrastructure.

1st gear: Volvo is right, I don’t want a gas engine anymore. I bought my last ICE vehicle at the end of 2020 and plan to replace it with an EV when I burn it out in 4-5yrs. I have a truck and a fun car that won’t need to be replaced for a while but both of those applications would be fine for electric. I have a 50A…
Have you met the average American?
Anecdotal evidence from 12 years ago and the other side of the country, but Boston Zipcar had a bunch of Scion’s mixed in and they were the perfect go-to whenever there was a car-requiring errand.

Yeah, what’s with that yellow circle?
Part of the reveal mentions that there’s an NX450h Plus variant which is a plug-in.
Luckily there are about thirty four thousand electric trucks and SUVs planned for launch between now and then. You can already tow with some EVs, fwiw.
Nobody is coming to take your gas powered toys, thankfully. You just won’t have access to new ones.
So tired of stupid SUVs. In 10 years, SUVs and giant pickups is literally ALL that’s going to be on the roads after the cars on the road now wear out.
They currently do a lot of separate parcel delivery in dedicated vehicles. If they can negate a good portion of that with larger mail trucks, it’ll be a win.
The fuel economy is worse than that. The combined ratings on the Sienna is 35, but the Carnival is only 22.
Looks great! Don’t’ care about lack of AWD here in sunny California, but the lack of a hybrid option is a no go. The hybrid Sienna gets up to 36mpg, 26mpg is just sad. But I guess if people see it more a SUV the mpg would be appropriate.
Agreed. The Kia looks really sharp, especially for a minivan, but the mpg with the new hybrid Sienna certainly would help to elevate its ranking for potential buyers.
Although I like the styling of this version, I think Toyota really nailed a home run with the hybrid Sienna. It’s super-practical in every way, including fuel efficiency. Lack of a hybrid might be a dealbreaker for many potential buyers.
I realize you may have just dropped that off the cuff, but that is EXACTLY what they should do with that exact name.
You just saved them a ton of money and got their marketing/consumer needs department fired.

OK Cruise:
It will come back. I can tell you that the entire sales organization of my company is jonesing to get back in front of clients again. Zoom is NO substitute for pressing the flesh and expensive lunches for clients.
Maybe all the roadside attraction/service jobs could come back?
