I live in a city and rarely plug in at home in my extremely narrow driveway. Public charging works well enough, and I’ve made many road trips (including to remote parts of Maine in -10 to -20F) without trouble.

Considering 16% are over 65 (thus likely on SSI), the 40% (of households that pay no income tax) is less meaningful.
It’s not a large portion of the market, but many automakers thought they could each, simultaneously, release $80-100k EVs and take all the market share. Clearly, they couldn’t. That market is pretty small.

I think there is plenty of battery to go around for school buses. Just like there is for postal vehicles. Both are ideal for BEVs. Certainly before ICE bans for the private market.
