5 years, no.

Cheap EVs are abundant right now. Lots of Bolts, Konas, Leafs abound. And Prius Primes are under $20k, after rebates.

We will see come November 2022. If the GOP succeeds in winning seats, which they likely will, we’re done as a country.

Or the godawful all glass roof. I want a damn moonroof that opens!

Will they be selling it here as a Lexus LX?

The Prius did a lot for electrification.  It make eco- a status symbol.

Prius Prime can be had for under $20k with incentives and tax credits.

New Bolts, Leafs and Kona EVs too.

True… but many did not buy new cars and their old ones put almost no miles.

Spent a day with a model 3. A screen on wheels doesn’t compete as a complete package at $60,000.

I landed a PS5 just to play GT7.

Glad I’m not waiting for this. The Polestar2 has about the same range/specs as the M50 for less money. It’s a little slower to 60, but the P*2 will put you back in the seat enough to make your spouse slap you. So, it’s quick enough.

How awful is it that the lines at the food banks for the past year feature any number of expensive ($40K+ CUVs)? Seriously?

Gasoline is a cure for COVID, so you know, it can be put to use.

We throw spaghetti at the wall.

One of the good things gov’t does is take risks that lead to innovation.

People should pay for their impacts on others (resource use, traffic congestion, you name it).

This is bigger than a Corolla. Much bigger.

An extra levy on heavy, expensive, resource intensive EVs like the Hummer EV or Tesla’s Cybertruck or S Plaid are not regressive at all. Those EVs are for the rich. Progressives and Republicans should agree. And now is the time to do it because it’s affects so few people. It will also encourage greater efficiency

Now would be the time to implement an EV weight/kWh tax to discourage over consumption of precious battery resources and encourage development of lighter, more efficient batteries.
