M30B35 3.4L inline 6 mated to Getrag 260 5-speed MANUAL transmission that also is meant to run on 87 AKI gasoline.

The Mazdaspeed6 simply needs a lot of mechanical refinement. It had a nice formula to compete with the Legacy GT spec.B with a better interior than the Legacy and a turbo AWD powertrain with good torque down low and decent highway mileage. Keep it mostly stock and it is a nice, fun daily driver.
