Former very part-time curler and Midwesterner here. The folks I curled with got fucking hammered before even taking the ice. Played in a “homebrew” bonspiel once where a ton of people brought in their home brewed beer, cashed much of it, then hit the ice for the actual tournament. I wasn’t a great curler to begin…

That shot, in that situation shows you the size of the balls on Jones.  That’s like a game 7 overtime goal or a walk-off World Series moonball.

Serious question...but before I ask, I must add I’ve never curled (dont even know if thats a word), can count the times I’ve been in falling snow on one hand, never been in temps colder than say 28 degrees for more than an hour in my life...so basically i lived in warm weather areas...nowhere near where curlers…

I’ve been having health troubles for some years now, nothing harrowing like Molly had, just semi serious stuff that, in part, was just bad luck and wouldn’t be bad, except it’s been going on for several years now - once I recover, some other shit happens. I paid for some hospital…

I am happy to pay my National Insurance contributions and would be happy for it to increase to be safe in the knowledge that when my daughters have babies, or get sick, or if I need more medical care, I don’t have to bankrupt myself just to get the help I need.

Reading this, as a UK resident, I can only shake my head in disbelief. Since last year, I have had a number of health issues all no doubt due to hitting 40 and my body deciding that the previous 20 years of ill use were enough.
I’ve had cameras in three orifices, and due for two of those orifices to receive cameras…
