I love this article. Sierra Nevada is excellent, excellent beer. It's affordable, it's available, and it was my first "craft" beer. I'm happy to see it on Drunkspin. I'm happier still that I can buy it in Stewart's Shops across the Capital Region of upstate NY.

I totally agree. I was also thinking of Brad Friedel and Kasey Keller. It felt like those dudes played FOREVER and were still very sharp. I just wonder if there is a steep drop-off at, say, 37 or 38.

This was terrific and fun to read. Is there an average age that keepers start to, statistically speaking, lose a step or two? I also immediately thought of hockey and wondered if there is an analogy there. Goalie/keeper is such a psychologically fraught position.

"Unbelievable uncontainable WITCHCRAFT!", I love Roy.

I've made it out to Ommegang, which is really fun and they have great shows, but not Butternuts. I'll have to take a trip!

Bless you Will, for this, "The first impression is of chocolate-covered blueberries, which now that I type it seems weirdly specific and made up, but I'm sticking with it. " I get impressions like that when I drink new beer and while they may seem ludicrous, it's what you think when drink it! Oskar Blues Old Chub is

I love Butternuts' stuff. I think the Moo Thunder is really good. I live in Albany so thankfully it's available at a lot of places.

Lagers do get short shrift. Two really nice ones I had this summer were Caldera's Lawnmower Lager and Bluepoint's Toasted Lager. I'll have to check out Achor's California!

Yeah, likewise I generally don't much mind drinking from the bottle or can etc. but I think it might make a difference with this beer. Hopefully you can get your hands on another, fresher one. Cheers!

I would love to see something on Cigar City's Jai Alai. I think that's a terrific beer.

It can be tough to love for sure, but browning it (THIS IS THE KEY TO THE WHOLE THING OTHERWISE IT JUST HAS THAT BIRDSEED TEXTURE) and covering it with sticky, hot, and sweet peanut sauce goes a long, long way! I'd give it another shot.

Damn, dude. This sounds great.

Tempeh stir-fry w/ peanut sauce is my jam. First, the peanut sauce. In a decent sized mixing bowl, I mix about 4 TBSPs of peanut buttera couple cloves of garlic, some soy sauce, some sriracha, some sugar, and a little bit of water to dilute the mixture. Do everything to preferred heat/taste etc. In a cast iron

I have not read much of Whitlock either, but I think this really adroitly explored Whitlock as a public figure and the tension between what he wants to do and what he's done.

Terrific piece, thanks for writing it.

Hey man, the video appears to be something about the FDA changing food labels. Not saying that it's impossible that it's germane to the post, just that it's unlikely.

This is truly the worst thing I've seen on Deadspin.

Oh, Barves.

this was a great piece! more of the same, please.

The supremeiest.
