Destroying Gallifrey again?

I keep hoping we’re getting close to the point when all these nitwit showrunners and directors quit inheriting franchises and immediately whipping out their erasers. Yup. Everything that Chibnall sets up seems to fall flat on its face - for example, the way this episode ends with 15 minutes of expository dialogue, including some really egregious “actually, I went back in time earlier and solved that problem in advance.”

I think my problem with a big move like this is that I don’t have much faith in Chibnall to resolve it in a satisfactory way. It would have been a smarter move to just do some kind of handwaving about being locked behind an infinite looping multidimensional time space paradox and leave it at that.

The choice with Gallifrey’s destruction can, in my opinion, only be described as “fucking dumb.” There has been a decade of trying to get a grip on the fall of the Time Lords and the people of Gallifrey, and it’s just undone, seemingly on a whim.
