My understanding is that after a few inches of rainfall, the soil is saturated and becomes essentially impermeable anyway. The exact amount depends on local soil types. That is to say, in a heavy rainfall event like this one, that stuff makes little difference.

Kinja is a nightmare. I eventually got the claim process to work, but I’d guess that effort is not going to pay off for me. Also, my Kinja username has a sequence of random numbers after it so I’m never going to remember it. One day my browser will lose its cookies, and that will be it for me.
