I saw Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells in The Book of Mormon. I saw Sutton Foster in Anything Goes. I saw Helen Mirren in The Audience. I saw Alex Sharp in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.

Now playing

People are still making quality music of the style you describe. It’s just hard to find amidst the “trucks and beer” songs.

This photo is the Maneuvering Room in a 1960's era U.S. nuclear sub. Left to right is the throttleman station, reactor plant control panel and electric plant control panel. Subs with this technology were operated well into the 1980s.

How do you do your job? Perfection is the only acceptable standard. Anything less than

Freckles..... Red hair..... Sorry, lost my mind for a minute....

Helena, featured character in (simultaneously) one of the funniest and most horrific scenes I’ve ever seen on TV: “Do I look like I’m trying to be funny?”

Though there was a bit too much naked Morena Baccarin for my taste

Goldman’s dilemma (research by Australian physician Robert Goldman): Would you take a drug that would guarantee overwhelming success in sport, but cause you to die after five years? A 2012 survey at an elite-level track and field event in USA showed if the proposed drug were legal but deadly, around 6% would take it.

I was at the Super Bowl in Jacksonville. I got my tickets on the after-market. Once I found my seat (corner of the field, not great but not too bad), I quickly realized I was in the section allocated to Philadelphia Eagles employees. Not the team families but other employees. These people weren’t just fans, but

I have tickets to a Jackson Browne (age: 67) concert from several weeks ago that was postponed due to “illness”. I thought, “OK, someone in the band is sick” then I read it was going to be a solo acoustic show. Yikes

I endured Burnt because Alicia Vikander is in it. But .....barely.....

Winter’s Bone: excellent

I have not seen Age of Adeline—this screengrab is from the trailer—but this actor is playing the younger version of Harrison Ford’s character.... If this guy can act, he certainly should be under consideration.

(comments for movies I’ve seen recently; I see a lot of movies)

I have not seen the movie so I can’t comment on his specific performance. I have seen We’re the Millers and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. By the end of Dawn Treader I wanted to punch him in the face—so he’s either a very good actor or an annoying brat (probably the former).

I have seen the Natalie Portman trailer you

The only question I have about The Revenant is, “Who is Will Poulter’s agent?”
