I agree, but it seems that the public likes people who sound like everyone else.

I don’t know if you would consider Stranger in a Strange Land “unfilmable” but the a lot of the story elements would still cause outrage today
I have posted this before:
Once people are discussing movies on the internet, there’s about a 50% chance that they’re racist trolls. It’s a catch 22, since in real life people are less likely to have a vociferously hateful opinion of movies, but they’re also less likely to have any opinion or interest. I’m 99% sure that most of the people I see…
Well, it’s march 15th. You can’t just let the Ides of March go by without stabbing somebody.
You see, its complicated. The stabby person couldn’t be categorized as either “good guy” or “bad guy”, primarily because they were seemingly not a “guy” at all, regardless of moral alignment and/or gun having status.
Wasn’t she the Virginia Madsen character from the Lynch version?
Im a lifelong Spider-man and Fantastic Four fan. We've had plenty of good Spider-man movies. I just want one decent FF film. I hope this is the one. Vanessa Kirby is great
the other problem, and something that i’m not sure i even possess the language to explain, is that we’re in a bit of a ‘crisis of opinion’.
I’m incredibly lucky to spend most of my time around smart, rational, successful people. And while I’ve know these people are just one end of the spectrum, it’s still jarring to be reminded how absolutely, fist-fuckingly stupid so many Americans are.
Oh no they have Jon Voight, whatever shall we dooooooo
Kim Matula as Jane Curtin
The Alfa Romeo Spider has been my dream car since college. It’s small and there are better, more dependable roadsters out there, but the Pininfarina design and the almost painfully cool look & feel have been like an automotive siren call for me.
Agreed. Every time I see a mention of this night agent guy I am reminded of how good The Night Manager was.
Just a reminder that The Night Manager with Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie was really very good.
Pajiba, Lainey, and the Mary Sue are all good.
That is the big danger I am expecting with the GOP. They will basically pull a Sinema, saying whatever they need to get elected but rathe than going the normal politician route of being corrupted by greed they throw the switch on some evil master plan they had secretly been working on for years.
I caught this hilarious Youngkin faux acting story in the comments on Slate. I can't stop laughing at him.
It’ll be fun watching him fall on his face on the national stage in the lead up to 2028.
The movie I want is the one where she and her sister Hayley Atwell go on a US roadtrip, conning everybody they meet.
