I look forward to Outlander and the Knick most of all right now, so I'm happy it's been renewed, not too thrilled about only getting 8 episodes though. Meh. :/

Why isn't it showing a next episode on this page though? I'm taking a huge risk even watching this series since it's Starz, the same channel that canceled Camelot, Boss, and Magic City. I do not have a lot of good will towards Starz for many of their decisions let's put it that way, although Spartacus was one of my

Wait, there's not another episode next week? We only get 6 episodes?

Almost as good as certain episodes of S1 Spartacus, which I believe the greatest television show ever at tugging your strings.

Yes, he had some odd facial tics. What I noticed the most though is his snorts after reciting certain lines, because when people snort like that many people think it means that you are speaking the truth as you see it, so in that way I think the actor was truly owning his lines through those snorts. ;)

What an utterly grotesque and yet beautiful speech by the sadistic Black-Jack Randall. I completely understood the "truth" he saw as he was describing the punishment to Claire, and in the understanding of it I knew I was not the innocent girl that I once was, nor is Claire, that I, or she could be capable of relating

While i agree that S1 of Banshee was splendidly fun exploitation, I found S2 to be all over the place and quite messy, I'm hoping they sort out the writing and directing issues and find some sense of cohesion. One episode would be directed like a student art film and the next like an episode of Strikeback. The Amish

Wow. It's like we're watching two different shows. I find it warm, organic, and buzzing with energy.

This is one of the most bizarre photos I've ever seen! Thanks so much for posting it!

Hahaha!

HBO might've been wise to simulcast it on both channels for S1. It would've helped to get people hooked on it and then enable it to draw more subscribers to Cinemax. I just hope more people get a chance to see this amazing show.

I'm jealous! Yes, I completely agree he's shooting it in a way that feels very modern, I never really paid attention to how he shoots some of his other work but I dare say he's coming up with such inventive choices with the Knick that it's becoming borderline-auteur. Color me impressed.

I bet Cronenberg would love this show and Herzog as well. I get nods of both when watching this. Oh, and I watched the first Black Mirror. The pig-fucking prime minister one. lol. Almost felt like I was watching something along the lines of The Human Centipede. Comical and disgusting. Thanks for the recommend once

Elements of this show are just so realistic that I'm almost able to completely forget this is a tv show and I'm like Claire in Outlander transported back in time to watch these people live and work. Specifically in this episode the baby seeming to be in severe pain, and of course each and every surgery. I've never

Worked on it in what capacity? Are you thrilled with how it turned out? :)

If it had been me writing for the show I believe I would've made a giant leap forward and pushed past everything they tried to do with this season and just had Masters divorce his wife and marry Virginia and get back to the sex study. I think all this back and forth and the silly sub-plots in S2 have really sapped the

Yes, tbh last week's episode of MoS was the very first of the season I thought managed to get the show back on the rails again. The Knick's got me fired up just like True Detective and Fargo did 5 episodes in, let's hope the show doesn't falter in the second half of the season like those two did for me. Fargo less

Agreed. It is unlike anything I've ever seen before either, other than maybe a few of Herzog's jungle films, which like the Knick were driven by mad genius, the desire to be as authentic as possible, and were fueled by raw ambition to do something no one else has done before.

B+

Anyone have any idea what crawled up Emily Nussbaum's ass when reviewing The Knick? I can't make heads nor tails of it except that she seems to think S2 of Masters of Sex is mind-blowing television at it's finest. I couldn't disagree more in fact, I've found S2 of MoS to be a gigantic mess and The Knick to be a true
