This week has been all Overwatch for me, what with the Halloween event ending and the start of a new competitive season. I got all the skins I wanted except for the 80's Zarya (next year!), and somehow did incredibly well in my season 7 placement matches. In fact, I must have improved in Season 6 because I placed…

This was a lot more somber than the show usually goes for but I rather liked it. I think this tone - at least every once in a while - is an interesting fit for the series. And I enjoyed having a “villain” that wasn’t some crazy powered person that was just destroying parts of the city for selfish gain.

This is my girlfriend’s favorite show, and I got into it mostly because she liked it and heard it was a good binge - we hit it on Netflix after season one ended and watched it like twice in a row. I think it’s interesting that the Black Hood only goes for sinners and hopefully that’ll up the stakes on digging deeper into these characters’ darker sides.

It was weird to see Saw “Victory At All Costs” Gerrera use stun shots on those two Stormtroopers. Like, it actually took me out of the moment. Why would Saw ever set his blaster to stun? Except maybe for cases like Ezra and Sabine.

Riverdale is an extraordinarily well made show, I am not referring to the plotting, acting, or scripting (all of which I think are good), but mostly to the cinematography, costuming, and set design, all of which are almost impossibly excellent.

Not too much going on in the world of video games for me this week. I teamed up with The Space Pope and Zkywalker for some Overwatch the other day, which was a delight. I had a great time chatting and figuring out whether I like the new D.Va, and I’m looking forward to doing it again soon!
