If I deliberately perpetrated a large-scale fraud, I’d fully expect to pay at LEAST a year and half of income, then sacrifice another couple years in prison. I mean, “duh”, right?!

The $18 billion number is getting thrown around a lot in the media but it’s pretty unlikely. The fine will probably be in the $1-$2 billion range, enough to get everyone’s attention but the EPA has no interest in killing VW of America, Inc (who will be the ones getting the fine, not Volkswagen Group.)

[Miami Herald Reporter]: And you’re saying he went off script and that caused a lot of the problems?

Might not be the best, but CAGS is great work out of GM:

I’m not saying you are wrong but how could anyone think Sam Bradford is a “chip” the guy is getting paid $13 million for one season and has never had a 4,000 yard or 30 TD season (and that’s not just because of health).

My thinking is that if you are a heterosexual male and God puts Ciara in your life, he really WANTS you to do it with her.....

True. If a kicker misses a field goal, it’s something you blame the kicker for. If you miss a two point conversion, coaches get the blame for that. And when a multimillion dollar job is on the line, I’d be risk adverse too.

It’s actually fairly important to the kickers and punters to get the K ball back if it goes in the stands, because the equipment guys generally only get enough time to break in the first 2-3 balls properly.

Risk aversion. You miss the two and lose by a PA and you’ll have people shitting their pants.

If I recall there was only about 3 laps laps to go (maybe less?) when they ordered Max to let Sainz pass. With such little time left, no one can comfortably conclude that Sainz would’ve passed Perez. It’s not like the incident between Bottas and Massa where Massa was clearly holding up Bottas but there was still half

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost says that Max Verstappen was correct to refuse the order given to him by the team.

ah, killdozer. so many things to say about that snafu and what lead to it..

Armored car: made to move itself around without getting hurt
Tractor: made to bend nature to the will of man

My personal beef is everytime they turn to Trent Dilfer during super bowl week, and ask him to describe what its like to be / how to be/ what to think as a super-bowl winning QB.
He was in a fucking coma for that season. He had 12 TDs on the SEASON. Thats like asking the Wide- right Bill’s Kicker what its like to kick

The funny thing is that for years Baltimore sports talk radio (don’t ever listen to sports talk radio) was littered with callers who firmly believed that Tyrod Taylor was better. They mostly vanished after the Super Bowl win, but they still pop up whenever Joe lays one of his 40 attempts/180 yards/3 INTs eggs.

I don’t know man, I’m thinking Flacco just isn’t elite enough. And what about being clutch? Why don’t we talk about that?

Yea, but is Flacco elite?

If you’re talking about that epic orchestral thing, that wasn’t EA, that was made by a group of guys who make stuff for movies and games, Two Steps From Hell. EA would have had nothing to do with that, that song is in other things too, they just paid to use the song.

One of the most expensive parts of Top Gear’s budget is the music. I’m sure they were paid.

This. Once, my GF filled up my water bottle while I was in the shower (we have opposite schedules), and even though it’s a wide-mouth Nalgene, she didn’t put any ice in it, just whatever room-tempish cold water came out of the faucet. I mentioned it to her when I got home, and now I fill up my own goddamn water bottle.
