“self-own” is self-deprecation

“VW CEO notes VW’s internal problems in statement rejecting merger offers from FCA.

Your old caddy wasn’t trying to be a performance car either. Most V8 caddys will never reach peak power output at any point in their lifetimes (by the time they’re handed down they’re usually a bit worse for the wear).

Military grade simply means “built to military specifications”. Military specifications are typically concerned with operational capability first, cost second, and everything else next. As long as the system is rugged and provides sufficient power they won’t worry much about lifespan when the pace of technological

Where I live certain freeway exits get backed up in a consistent and predictable manner during periods of heavy traffic. These backups are exacerbated by dozens of drivers flying past the line of backed up traffic and cutting in at the last possible moment. It is a dangerous practice which only encourages more of the

Trudeau’s public standing has fallen precipitously since reneged on his core campaign promise 2 weeks ago.

That sounds an awful lot like projection. Obama supporters in the military knew better than to display such partisan garbage on the job.

Commander in chief is a non-partisan duty, flying that person’s partisan campaign flag to support him is exactly the wrong way to go about it.

Well if you want to get specific on wording of internet comments, “mostly sells” would most closely align with units shipped. HD’s average sale price is just a hair under $20k, so if we assume the average sale price of merchandise items is $50 then they’re shipping 40 times more volume of merchandise then they are

That all depends on margin, if they’re pulling a 30% margin on merchandise and only 3% on motorcycles then the net income from the two lines would be close to even. As far as I can tell HD doesn’t report these margins separately.

That was mostly only v6 automatic models, and they stopped doing that around the 2007-2008 model years.

Here, I’m not sure there’s any way he’d be able to know this part would fail when he bought the car. If he is outside their parameters, okay, but the buyer should be made aware of these things before buying.

“apposed”

Have you already forgotten the Citizens United ruling? Corporations have the same rights to free speech as anyone else.

I’ve worked in service my entire life, you’re not the only one who has to eat shit from customers. Stop whining so much about it.

VW dealership employees are far from the only retail sales staff who have to put up with customers like that. They aren’t personally responsible for the costs so I really couldn’t care less about their feelings.

I think everyone is still missing the point that the janitor in my story is VW the company. Dealerships aren’t paying to buy back these ruined cars with their own money it all comes from corporate.

The janitor in my story was VW corporate. Dealerships have no direct financial liabilities which result from the buybacks.

How exactly is the sales staff fucked over again? It’s not their money being used to buy back these vehicles.

These people paid good money for their TDIs and VW was decieving them the entire time.
