Sometimes people need their face rubbed into something in order to even consider thinking about the issue. In my opinion this is a key role of art in society, how it can draw people to different perspectives and make them reconsider the status quo and possibly change their viewpoint.

A few weeks ago I got off a flight back home to find out that Lyft had started operating in my city again and was offering 50% off rides. It was past midnight and I was starving so I had the driver stop at Taco Bell on the way home and it was a godsend. I’d like to think there are enough people like me that they

Torch, I’ve always thought you were a guy who could appreciate an engineer remembering the mechanics who have to work on his vehicles. Try wrenching on cab-overs for a while and we’ll see how much you still like them. Or crashing in one, for that matter.

Have you never heard of the American Automobile Association (AAA)?

With bad credit it can be easier to finance a new car than a used one, especially when the manufacturer is trying to push more volume. Especially when it’s so bad the only alternative is “buy here, pay here” which is usually an even worse deal than a new car.

They could be driving a company vehicle. FCA is popular with fleets due to their willingness to discount.

That’s called a “monopoly”, in this case on the compact 4x4 SUV segment. The compact truck market has the same issue.

How is Kentucky (example quoted in article) gaining net revenue from this operation if they are also partially underwriting the cost? Those two things cannot both be true.

These signs are a service to motorists, not just businesses. I’m okay with leaving money on the table as long as states keep up the strict eligibility requirements. Selling the space to the highest bidder is no different than a billboard, at that point the states may as well get out of the blue sign business and just

The point is that the government does not have enough workforce available to build the number of ships they say they need. If my toilet doesn’t work I can demand the plumber take as many drug tests as I want but that’s not going to stop him from telling me to fuck off and leaving me with a broken toilet. Same thing

I’ve been part of a Navy engineering department where everyone had a secret security clearance or higher. Nearly everyone there drank alcohol. What’s the difference?

I think it’s because Clarkson doesn’t push the limit like Hammond does. The video of this crash isn’t perfect but it looks like operator error to me.

Did you see the video? It’s not a perfect angle but I also wouldn’t say luck had anything to do with it.

What’s your deal, man?

Do you not consider the Type R a worthy competitor?

Great attempt at analysis, too bad it completely missed the mark

“If you got the balls to take it on consecutive hard launches you better have the balls to pony up when it breaks.” - Nissan on the GT-R

According to another comment in this thread Chevy will cover warranty claims on Corvettes after track use. I’m sure they have a strict definition of “defect” vs “wear and tear” but it beats nothing.
