I disagree about the buyers wanting the fastest.  Tons of guys buy base 911's when they could have bought a Corvette which is faster for much cheaper.  Porsche carries a certain prestige and even mystique about it that attracts buys to want to own one.  I agree about the magazines though.  The Taycan will be faster

That’s actually a pretty good comparison I think.  I’ve never sat in a Tesla, but I’ve always heard mixed reviews about the quality of the materials and fit and finish... sound familiar?

Why wouldn’t they be able to shave off $50k from the price? They already do that for the 911. True they probably aren’t going to be making the same margins on the Taycan that they do on the 911 due to all the new tech for it, but everything I’ve read (and also heard from my local Porsche dealer) indicates the base

I used to live the same way in CT. Why? Florida helps. But at the end of the day, you just gotta learn discipline with your money.  I highly recommend www.financialsamurai.com

Yes technically.  The base and S models are coming.

Dude they haven’t hardly changed the design of the 911 in 50 years.  Do you really think they wanna change naming schemes even if it’s just one car?  Nope.  They stuck with what everyone knows from all their other cars.

911 turbo can go around corners!  Haha.

You’re not wrong about Porsche options.  Typically with their cars you need to put about $10k worth of options on them to make them comfy.  The rest of it is fluff.  Sure you can put $50k worth of options on the Taycan (guessing) but you’d be a fool to.  Also, you do realize that a base model of the Taycan is going to

No.  It’s 3.0 for the Turbo.  Turbo S Taycan is 2.6 sec.

True.  A good friend of mine is into GT3's and has owned several.  But he draws the line at 200k.  Folks with big net worth’s still have a budget.

Yeah, $113,990 was the best I could do.  Dunno where the extra $27k comes from.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but you’re wrong. This is the Turbo and Turbo S Taycan. Otherwise known as the most expensive in the lineup. The base model is coming and supposedly it’s going to retail for around $100k.

Oh man.  Don’t google IMS bearing then bro.  The GT3 issue was hardly the first one for Porsche.

Ouch...lol.

First in sales, last in profit.  Hopefully they can figure out how to actually make money on their cars before they run out of cash.

So far.  But that’s not the final goal.  Not according to my Porsche dealer and what I’ve read on the web.

Thats incorrect. The Taycan does not start at $153k, that’s the Turbo model. There will be a “non-turbo” model as well, rumored to start around $100k.

No.  That’s the Turbo.

I agree its heavy.  But it’s not a sports car.  It’s a sports sedan.  I expect it to be heavy.

A true jalop hero.
