It doesn’t need to be useful, the digital display in the middle is all you need. Glance at the tach, and you see the speed readout too.

This.
You get used to it
Yeah. Admittedly some of it looms cheap and almost whimsical. But the 996 interior is not a bad place to spend time
You can.
As soon as I saw the previous poster mention the Fit I thought of you. Lol
Per the article they are indeed.
In the industry, that crude is referred to as the patina.
Don’t forget the deviated stitching color for it
No. Polish is your friend.
Ditto. 50th anniversary issue maybe?
They really are, and while not super fast, they are quick and fun to drive. You can actually rev this car up and wind it out in 2nd in 3rd gear without attracting too much attention from your local law enforcement officer.
Yup. Shared with the 996. The interior in these cars is a pleasant place to be, all though a little cramped. It’s quirky and almost silly... like they weren’t being serious when the designed it compared to the 993 and 997 interiors, which are much more serious and refined. Some folks hate the 996 and 986…
Nah it’s pretty common to just replace your rears when you have staggered tire sizes like these cars do. The rears will wear faster than the fronts and you can’t rotate them like a square setup to balance it out.
When the IMS bearing starts to go, metal shavings start showing up in the oil pan. So by running a magnet through the oil, you can detect the initial signs of the bearing starting to fail.
Me either.
Omg, I had no idea such a thing existed. A 95 Cavalier was my first ever car, my old man bought it new for me back in ‘95. I was lucky. It ran for close to 150k miles with little to no trouble. Lots of fond memories there.
Nicely done MC Lyte
I know the feeling. Damn those shrinking cars
Baaaaaaaaaaaby shark...
