I agree.  I think it’s the one MCU movie, though, that could have benefited from being a Disney+ show instead.  So much of the movie is just backstory and exposition that could have been better handled with a longer run-time.  

I did not know that Strange World existed until I read the AVClub review the day before the movie came out.

With the author actively involved, I feel like the series is as faithful an adaptation of the books as there ever will be.

Nope.  They knew the series was unfinished when they took the job.  And HBO would have given them as many seasons as they needed, but they were in a hurry to leave, so decided to rush the conclusion through in 2 truncated seasons.  If they were no longer interested in doing the show, they could have passed it off to…
