I saw Dwight Yoakam at a music fest for the first time a few weeks ago, he was great. His set was just one song after another, with only 1 or 2 breaks to speak to the crowd. He ended his set with a cover of 'Suspicious Minds'. Lucinda Williams played right before him, she was really good too.

He always starts the show about 45 minutes after the time printed on the ticket, I think it's so everyone - even the latecomers - make it in.

Me too. The Rising has some great songs, but it also has too many.

Thanks!

I'm jealous of all of you, Shellac are one of my most-want-to-see-live bands, but they play live so infrequently. I don't think they even have a Facebook page, where you can follow them.

The ending stretch of King For A Day -> Good Riddance (yes, I still like that song) -> Prosthetic Head is great.

No, never heard of that. There was a food truck called Lobster Hut, where you could get lobster on a sandwich roll (like a 6" sub), that was pretty good.

There weren't any at the fest, but I had 2 at the airport, and 1 at Baejarins Beztu Pylsur in Reykjavik. Pretty good, and cheap too. I liked that you could get crunchy onions on them at BBP.

I went to ATP Iceland last year and it was amazing, one of the best fests I've ever been to. It takes place on an old NATO base, and the main stage is inside an old airplane hangar. Saw Iggy Pop, Drive Like Jehu, Public Enemy, Swans, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Belle and Sebastian, Run the Jewels, Mudhoney, and more.

Lots of UK shoegaze reunions lately: Slowdive, RIDE, Swervedriver, and now these guys. I don't know anything by Lush, recommendations?

Those two I think are the most karaoke'd songs of all time.

I read this in Boomhower's voice.

As long as I gets a little golden shower.

John Kricfalusi does commentary on that episode, and talks about meeting Zappa.

One time I saw a partially-eaten whole Pizza Hut pizza on the side of the road, and a bunch of crows were gathered around it, trying to lift it up in the air and carry it away.

"Scrambled eggs…"

Can we all just agree that 'The Girl is Mine' sucks?

I've never done a full marathon, but I have thought about it. I'm 37, so I could probably do it, but I'd have to talk with my doctor. My Mom is worried that I would have a heart attack or die.

I've done 2 half-marathons, and I agree, a complete stranger shouting out your name or just giving you a thumbs up is an effective motivator to keep you going.

Talk to your doctor, or take lessons and see if there's a way you can relieve that pressure.
