You clearly have never worked to support yourself in the service industry, and have little to no concept how most restaurants in this country compensate their front-of-house staff.

They don’t owe you a thing. Being upset because someone gives you money but not how much you wanted is the epitome of greed, and so utterly American.
I am perpetually amazed by the frequency at which I see this particular misspelling. Like, I get rein/reign; horse technology is pretty far in the past at this point. But “paid”? Paid? How do people fuck that up so often?
Technically, any word can have “-ed” added to the end to make it past tense - words like “paid” are relics of an earlier era.

Also, yes, cost of living keeps going up, but wages don’t, so in the restaurant industry that has to be made up with tips.
Why can’t Americans take a step back and make the simple observation that despite the proliferation of fad diets, obesity rates continue to rise?
The lifestyle change happens at goal weight, not for weight loss. No one can operate at a caloric deficit indefinitely, the law of thermodynamics won’t allow it.
