This brings tears to my eyes. What a treasure.

How much does all this fancy technology weigh per seat? That is... how many more pound per passenger does the airplane have to carry? Everything on board a plane is about weight. Fuel economy, maximum takeoff limits... you can't add thirty pounds of features to every seat and expect the airlines to think "hey, as if

Venus? Shouldn't it be Janus?

I totally also went there first! How sad is it that, like, 10 years later, that's still the association?

I literally lol'd at Martini Tiny Fetus. Startled the dog and everything.

I just find it very difficult to believe her very first instinct wasn't to try her brakes. Most drivers err on the side of slamming on the brakes when they're out of control... which is why in icy conditions, you get cars in the ditch every 100 feet. When you stomp on the brakes and you don't slow down... you panic. I

Do we know that a 2011 Kia Sorento will cut the throttle if you stomp on the brakes and hold them for four seconds? Someone else in the comments said that about another make and model... but I'm not sure if the Kia has that feature or not? Everything else seems predicated on that.

Best not to... if the engine isn't letting up and you're hammering on the brake at those speeds all you're gonna do is set your brakes on fire.

"as somebody who more or less works in advertising, there is a great deal more to it than 'commercials'..."

Warning: Obnoxious Nerd Pedantry Follows...

See, here's my thing... I don't think it matters what sort of standard the test is built to. It's not intended to show one car's features over another's, so the sorts of rigorous controls you'd use to get a fair comparison don't really matter. It's intended to show whether or not the car will keep its wheels on the

Actually, what she says is: "...we've given all /you/ people need to know..."

Some of us still do.

So, hey, NBC... why don't you publicly malign a few more talk show hosts who've turned in decades of good work? First Conan, and now Ann Curry. NBC used to have such a strong reputation. Now their programming is mediocre at best, and they keep having these enormously public contract battles... whoever is in charge

I think it's terribly anti-human. Let's not give ourselves over to the suggestion that the only people allowed to have emotions are women, eh?

I think some of you need to go retake physics. Bandwidth and power are not the same thing. You can (and they will) use this technique to increase bandwidth without increasing the power of the radiated energy. That's sort of the point. No one's brain is gonna get cooked. No one's gonna be popping popcorn.

LOL... I can't imagine there're flights to Buffalo that need that much capacity. ;) Also, they already do board some large flights through multiple gates... usually they're like 23 A and B, though.

The Retina-display version has done away with the DVD drive to make the machine thinner since most people rarely use their DVD drives anymore. The standard MBP does still have an optical drive.

I like the black keys.
