right now though CVTs need to be only in rental cars. I did enjoy getting 38mpg on a CVT equipped rental I just drove across the country. Sure I’d rather be in my manual, but it only gets 26mpg. But yeah, with proper development I think the case for them could be made.

That and I hate it when those 6, 8, and 9 speed auto trannies hunt for the right gear and you feel the car lurching around while it hunts. Even more of a downer than CVT lag IMHO.
