Washington plates on the back. Oregon on the front. Listed for sale in Colorado. Not liking that. Finish the job (whatever that means), price it at 3,500 and then we'll talk.

Me too.

Marsha Blackburn is an idiot. She was an idiot when I met her back in 1992. She is an idiot now. The difference is her sorry ass moved to a different district where it could get elected.

If my wife would let me, I'd cash my retirement out for one. Alas, if I did that, I'd have to live in the thing. Wait, that might not be bad...

OEM stick in the right. ..

I got an OEM stick for the right hand. Left hand needs to steer...

exactly. I don't care about lowered lap times or getting to 60 in 3.2 (as opposed to 3.3) seconds. My right hand needs a stick in its hand, and it'll find one somewhere.

I don't live in CA (my dad does so I'm vaguely aware of how their registration laws work) but I'd bet if it was a barn find that had been registered in CA, the buyer would be on the hook to get the registration current. Typically with private party deals, the ad usually says if registration and smog is current. Buyers

don't we all wish. Nope, stock miata, but its top goes up faster than the others.

it does beat all those cars in a drag race. all cars had to put their tops up first, then drive. Miata's goes up much faster hence it got a big head start.

close. miata's top goes up faster than the others, which gives it enough of a head start to win a 1/4 mile drag race

quarter mile race with a Miata. Had to put top up first, then run the quarter. As expected, Miata is the answer.

agreed. too many numbers already gone missing.

going to the actual ad:

as far as I know, that's a CA only thing, but since it's from a San Francisco craigslist ad, it is relevant to the market where the car is being sold. However the ad does state it hasn't been registered since 2005 not 1995.

I can see this getting restomodded. Not worth it (to me) to do a numbers matching restoration. The '82 rear end, the engine bay highlights, and the fact that the current seller intends to add more non-stock stuff this weekend just all scream no, no, no, no, no. Not sure what the market for old vette is in the bay

improvement. I loved my first generation 3. I'm not a big fan of the current generation. This hatch could pass for a wagon if you squint at it just right. I'd rather have the 6 wagon, but I'd be proud to drive this as well.

yes it is. Never saw many of them even back in the 80's when they were being made. I want to say they were replaced by the FWD Tercel, and if I am recalling correctly some of the later ones even were dual badged as Starlet/tercel

All that sleeper power seems tempting. However if you are selling something as tweaked as these, there is no such thing as "Too much to list." The ad eschews even the most basic of pertinent details and instead vomits the performance aisle of Pep Boys all over the place.

Never driven any of those cars, though I've heard nothing but bad about them. (Side note: it is fun to complain about having to drive a 'vette only to reveal it's a chevette.) You hit the uncomfortable nail right on the head. Seats and head rests made driving the PT and Caliber intolerable.
