I really don’t want to do the swap. At the price of the swap and the rest of the components I want, I could just put that as a DP on a much more performance orientated car. I agree though, once you bring the swap and Stage 2 into the question, it does become much more viable. Another problem is I’m at ~300hp at the

I’m not saying your experience is invalid, but when 4th and 5th gears on a 5 spd are overdrive and mpg is the top priority, the gearing isn’t aggressive. There’s nothing wrong with the GSW as a practical car. In fact, I think it’s an exemplary example of affordable practicality that’s not a God-forsaken CUV. However,

I’ve been having this same dilemma for awhile actually. 4Motion Sportwagens are stupid cheap and I could pick up a new one and do the mods I want (tune, brakes, coil, wheel tires) with the DP money I would use for a more expensive car. And the 4 Motion means all the torque from the tune will have no problem getting to

Stage 1 on the 1.8 from most tuners out there gets you GTI specs. Stage 1+ gets you even more. Beyond that you’re looking at intercooler and turbo swaps for stage 2. If you’re willing to risk the warranty, you can have exactly what you describe. GTI brakes aren’t too expensive, some coilovers and better wheels/tires

This is a good point, but you can get the fluid change done cheaper if you go indy. It is a manageable DIY job. I had a manual GTI but I think the DSG is worth it, even with the 40K flush cost. It’s a phenomenal trans and the manual trans VW puts into their cars are basically afterthoughts.

MoE nailed it. You want the 1.8t to be fun, you’re going to have to tune it. And the 1.8 and 2.0 are actually better with the DSG. The gearing on the manual is not aggressive at all.

Respect. I hope you love what you do though, because that’s A LOT of work.

Jesus, must be nice. Honestly though, I thought the charm of the G was that it was ugly? It’s never ever looked “good” but it wasn’t meant to. I always just assumed people bought these because they’re large ostentatious vehicles that allow them to flaunt wealth and status in the largest vehicular form factor possible.

He does press cars only now, the other guy does fan cars.

I think it’s generally under-appreciated how of much the original three are actually friends. That made their on-screen interaction about as natural as it can be. It’s so painfully obvious that LeBlanc and Chris were co-workers and not genuine friends. Rory and Chris though? If you told me that they grew up together

I had forgot about /DRIVE. I used to watch their stuff on Youtube, but then it got re-branded or put behind a paywall or something. I didn’t realize they’ve done 5 seasons on TV. Going to have to DVR it, because there’s no way I’m remembering those showtimes. Remember TV Guides? Good times....

Yea like people weren’t doing this before it was legal. Now it’s legal so it’s a headline. Colorado had a similar fever pitch and then people moved on. Guy did something illegal and got punished in an ethical way. System seems to be working fine to me.

I read the whole profile and came away with the impression that Heidi is much more brilliant than her husband. It seems like she had an entire trajectory planned for herself in Washington, actually realized most of it, and threw it away for....Ted Cruz. I don’t agree with any of the political ideology she supports,

I framed at Micheal’s for awhile! Respect! Cutting glass in the frame shop has left me with multiple visible scars but I’m proud of them! I kind of miss doing shadow boxes sometimes, those were my favorite.

I still have my tin foil hat on when I say that Lebron had the Cavs front office do that trade to clear cap space for his eventual move to LA. It’s totally a conspiracy, but when you think about it....

I never said the Knicks were exciting, you missed the point.

Knicks fans literally do that every single draft. They booed Knox. I think Knicks fans that do that are idiots.

I never said they were exciting. What I’m saying is, there have been years when we’ve been a flaming shit stick, I mean I know, I sit through 82 of these Knicks games every season. My point was, this year, there are some interesting things going on in the franchise. They’re not even all positives, like my Porzingis

Is constructive criticism not allowed? I never said he was a bad author or attacked him as a person. I just said his Knicks take was lazy and explained some of the things that I felt would make for good material. It’s a comment section, and I’m replying to comments, I don’t get what the problem is. The one day I

I mean I’ve got nothing against the author, I just offered up some constructive criticism, but this blog post was most definitely not “reporting”.
