that is the policy of kickstarter, anytime they accept money it has to go towards the improving the project in some way. they cant just pocket the extra money as profit.

pretty much this. square enix lately has been in the habit of teasing... mobile games of all things. probably announcing an old star ocean game being made available on mobile platforms like they did with FF games.

couple points. one is that demand is created by greedy american kicking in. those who want to profit off of others misfortune. second are those who are collectors, they dont care about functionality but have the mentality of “gotta catch them all”. strip away those two and you will have these sitting on shelves.
