The answer is, of course, that nobody wins a battle between a gorilla & a helicopter.

All of what you say is predicated upon the premise that there exists an established industrial infrastructure that can manufacture the required tools, generate the power for the multiple factories, acquire & process the necessary materials, & assemble the parts according to a proven design.

That "dumb twist" was much more in keeping with the original novel. While I agree that the 'Rise' film was far, far better than the Burton movie, Burton's was far, far closer to the book, while 'Rise' was a complete re imagining, which only used the basic premise as a jumping-off point for a prequel, which sounds like
