That was not the point of broom boy and Rey. That take has never been supported by any of the SW media, the Clone Wars had an entire arc on the Jedi having to go to families who had no force sensitives and take the one child that did.

The final two books, Tower of Swallows and The Lady of the Lake are primarily about Ciri. Geralt has his own adventures, but you could pretty much say his story is treading water while Ciri is going through her story.

Rebels is must watch if you love Star Wars. Clone Wars is good to great toward the back half of the series. Even if you never watch Ahsoka you will appreciate the time you took to consume Rebels.

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding as to what a “filler” is.

One movie a year was never the problem. The problem was that the content for Star Wars to build off of was actually pretty narrow. You had the OT and the PT trilogies and some cartoons that, while some were really good, most had not seen.
