An "inoffensive Banjo retread" is what people paid all that money for on Kickstarter. There would be an uproar if anything else was delivered. Unfortunately for the developer they need other people who never owned N64s back in the day to buy the game as well.
As far as chain pizza goes, Pizza Hut is pretty good. And their wings are shockingly great too.

There were a few good ideas. The first movie hinted that Peter's parents had done something to him that allowed the spider DNA to integrate into his body without taking over, like what happened to Curt Conners.
They're saving that idea for the reboot series.
The loot system is really out of place, especially considering all the forging and upgrade options available that I completely ignored because I was finding new stuff at every turn.
