Blizzard hires from around 15-20 years or so ago seem to have been picked specifically because they were massive loudmouthed egotistical pricks with no qualifications or relevant skills. I wish I was joking. So Frazier being another example of that (alongside Tigole, Furor and so on) is entirely unsurprising. At one

This isn’t very shocking considering it’s Geoff Frazier. He’s been like this for decades. For example, he maintained (I have no idea if he still does) a website called expectnothing.com where he ranted, Maddox-style, about games and his very open and unhidden right-wing views whenever he wanted. His whole persona is

His name likely popped up in the extensive investigation that the EEOC conducted before they quickly settled.

I’m guessing he was pushed rather than jumped for some reason...

So... a guy who doesn’t even work for Blizzard anymore, goes on a right-wing Discord and post some stuff Kotaku writers don’t agree with. Quick, write a story with the Blizzard logo as the main image.

Context exists, please acknowledge it. It is not true that there is a lot of media depicting school shootings for entertainment purposes. This simulator is not just like every other game simply because violence is in it. I wish gamers would stop rushing to use a broad brush to make this seem normal when it obviously

The tactless tactical simulator

Okay, this is good Kinja.

Pizza delivery people have a more dangerous job than cops. And none of them demand to be let off the hook when they murder unarmed suspects. Get your tongue off that boot.

I mean, it really only happens in a single country in the world so I would pump the brakes on the “we” part there.

They don’t want to “trivialize the experiences” of people victimized by school shootings. They just want to put it in a video game so people can have fun roleplaying it and sell it for profit lol.

“I hope you’re injured or killed because you dared to say mean things about the most innocent wonderful people of all: American law enforcement officers.”

SWAT, typically, doesn’t lay down shit. They come in after the fact because it’s the worst case scenario but the worst has already taken place. At best they take the shooter alive but only after someone has been harmed or killed. It’s usually after there is a body or two on the floor though that SWAT actually does

so, they dont want to trivialize the experiences of people who have survived school shootings and the families who lost members in school shootings. and therefore, theyre going to try to, as best as they can, perfectly replicate those traumatic situations in a... video game? am i understanding that correctly?

If Void really gave half a shit about “authenticity and realism” about being a cop in America, they’d put in a level where you kill a 14 year old girl shopping for her quinceanera dress because you started firing wildly in a packed mall a few days before Christmas. Or a level where you kettled protesters into a dead

Myopic and tactless yahoos promise tact and nuance. They’re also selling beachfront property in Arizona if you’re interested.

Are the enemies going to be kids?

“We want to honor all those affected by school shootings by recreating those horrible experiences for profit.”

Ready or not, our utter lack of tact is coming!

If they had any tact, that level would never be made.
